It's music to my ears

I love listening to music, it helps me pass the time on car journeys, walking, or while revising. Music is always changing; who's in the top 10, who suddenly revolutionised the industry etc. Music tastes can change for each person too.
Mine has changed A LOT.
For years I had always been into Pop/Top 10 music, always keeping up with what was new; One Direction, The Wanted, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift. But as I've got older (well, in the past few months) I've stared to listen to some different bands/genres. I still love McFly and Ed Sheeran (and listening to musical soundtracks such as Hairspray and High School Musical) but in widening the search, my genre interests have dramatically changed.
Recently stared listening to:

  • Muse
  • You Me At Six
  • Two Door Cinema Club
  • We Are The Ocean
  • My Chemical Romance
  • Image Dragons
  • The Black Keys
This expansion of my music interests, and a friend's Facebook post, got me thinking about who listens to genres. Some people stereotype and group people depending on a) the genre and b) who listens to it. People may even say 'You're/not (insert stereotype) so you can't listen to (insert artist)'. We shouldn't be judged by the music we listen to, and we shouldn't be told we can't listen to an artist because we don't fit into the genre.
Me, for example. I don't listen to anything 'hardcore', but this time last year (six months ago even), I never would have pictured myself liking the music I do now. I even listen to a wide range of music (note the High School Musical 2 soundtrack on my iPod), if I like the sound of it, I like it.

I'm just going to go and keep experiencing new music (Bring Me The Horizon is one of my considerations) and not care whether I 'fit to the genre of that music' or not.

Hello

Hello. Guten Tag. Bonjour.
I decided to start a blog to share my thoughts. Thoughts on my life, life in general, the world and basically whatever is on my mind.
Personally, I'm a REALLY shy, quiet person unless I'm with people I feel very comfortable with. I'm very awkward in situations where I have to talk to people I don't know. I'm not a good conversationalist. I don't have much confidence. There is a lot of things I would change about my body (like most teenage girls). I love  books, movies (anything fictional) and music. I've had a normal life, nothing out of the ordinary. I've never been bullied (that I'm aware of) and I currently have an amazing group of friends.
I'm a lefty, I do ballet and play flute. I L.O.V.E shopping and fashion.

So, there's a bit about me to get started. I hope to post regularly, and I hope what I post is appealing or relevant.
